Five good reasons why business women should not undersell themselves

07-01-15This year, employed women effectively worked for free from 4th November compared with their equivalent male employees. Thankfully due to pressure on government, it is looking hopeful that Section 78 of the Equal Pay Act will be enforced (meaning that organisations with over 250 employees will have to publish their hourly rates) assuming it gets through its second reading in Parliament in February.
And it got me thinking – were there any parallels in the world of the self employed. What do women business owners charge for their services. It seems, in some instances, that women are imposing their own underpayment. And this is not a good thing in my opinion. This article explains why.
